Great - until it broke after a year

I bought this in 2011 and was delighted with its light weight and long reach. There is an issue that the hand guard's clip in fit works free. All was fine until a week ago when the trimmer became intermittent, only operating at certain angles. It has now stopped completely. If it wasn't for this poor reliability then it would be 4 stars.

This replaced a bigger, longer bladed Flymo model & I prefer the performance of this one, because in practice it is lighter, easier and quicker to use.
The previous model had a cumbersome 3 part safety device - this one has a two switch arrangement, one for each hand holding the trimmer, so it is still completely safe but easier to operate.
The cables on hedgecutters are always the big nuisance, but the belt attachment for the cable is a helpful feature - my hedge is too big to use a rechargable without having loads of spare batteries, unfortunately!
